Teacher Messages
Mrs Lyons and Mrs Garcia are great! Let me say it this way, being in a classroom of 31 kids isn’t always easy. Sometimes it’s loud or crazy and all I can think sometimes is “poor teachers”! I know they love everyone of us, but they can get really frustrated. This has been going for 2 school years now and yes, it’s fun, but I think it drives them a little nutty. Mrs Lyons is the most entertaining teacher I have ever had. She will always make you laugh, then say “it’s not funny”. In a room of 31 kids that makes it even funnier! Mrs Garcia is very kind to all of us. We only have 8 boys in our entire grade so it’s really fun when they get into trouble by her.

Thank you Mrs Buchan for the wonderful things you’ve done for me. My favorite thing about you as a teacher is you taught me cursive in 2nd grade. Thank you also Mrs Jacobsen, 4th grade is great. I love the Classical music you play and the Odysseys you put on. I really like you and Mrs Buchan!
— Tyler Banark, 4th grader
Mrs Gerken is great. I had her for 2nd grade and she left for a little while to have a baby. She came to our Valentine party and brought her new baby, Lucy Mary to it. It was soooo much fun. I also want to thank her for letting me be line leader the first week of school. I love that job.

Teachers, We treasure you! From The O’Connor Family
Dear Mrs Gerken, Thank you for making me have such a great second grade last year.
Love, Genevieve Bucher
To: Sherri Heimerman, Crystal Gerken, Margaret Swanson and in loving memory of Rose Lubbert; you are, in the words of a certain 9 year old girl, all ROCK STARS! Thank you for being more than her teachers. Thank you for being true models of faith, compassion and human dignity! God bless you all!
— The Severes Family
Thank you for upholding the Dominican tradition. Sincerely, Brian and Jana Donahoe
Crystal Gerken, you are an amazing teacher. We truly appreciate everything you do. Your thoughtfulness shows in so many ways. You always know the perfect way to make our daughter feel special. You listen with patience and give of yourself instilling a love of learning. Thank you for being such a positive influence on our child’s life.

Dear Teachers,
You definitely are our treasure that leads our children into our future. Throughout the years you have given our children direction when they have seem to have lost their way. Our parents trusted you with us and now we trust you with our children. The tradition of St. Cecilia's education has been and continues to be carried out by your everlasting dedication to our children. Like my husband always tells our children, "The teachers liked me so much that they had me go to school six days a week!" Obliviously, this is where the redirection back onto the right path comes into play! We could not prepare our children for their next step in life after St. Cecilia's without you. We definitely have a "pot of gold" at the end of our rainbow!

St Cecilia School - those words will always be a part of me for the rest of my life. When I first came to St Cecilia, I was beginning the seventh grade. I was very scared to be a transfer student, but that all changed quickly. When I walked into the school doors for the first time, I was immediately swamped by a bunch of my new classmates. They were greeting me and welcoming me to St Cecilia. I was overwhelmed by all the attention I was getting. I knew most of my classmates by the end of my first day and I even met many upper classmen as they came up to meet me. I have and will always love St Cecilia. It is like one big family. Everyone knows each other and it’s an amazing feeling when a younger student stops to say hello to you when you’re walking down the hall. Going to St Cecilia has touched my life at a young age, even though I have only been here for two years. I have been blessed to attend St Cecilia, to have met so many friends I will keep for life, to have shared so many laughs, and to have learned so much. I will miss St Cecilia and everything associated with it. The teachers are all very nice and will always help you with any questions you have. They are always smiling when they greet you in class and they keep a great sense of humor. They make learning fun. I have been blessed to be able to attend St Cecilia and for this I am thankful. St Cecilia will always have a special place in my heart and I will miss everything about it. GO CARDINALS!!!

To the Faculty – Thank you for carrying on a tradition of excellence in education, and your dedication to our children! We appreciate you every day!

We decided to attend St Cecilia’s for many reasons, but through the years, have come to realize that the reason we love this school and would never send our children elsewhere is due to the fabulous teachers! Our 3 daughters have had many teachers over the past 7 years and we feel blessed every year. They are so talented, experienced, supportive and loving and we feel we could never find this great of a combination elsewhere. Thank you so much, all of the St. Cecilia’s wonderful faculty, for all that you do each and every day!

Thank you St. Cecilia teachers for helping us raise our children. You mirror the values, faith and discipline we work to instill in them, in a world that can easily lead in different direction.
When Thomas was in kindergarten our family went through something really difficult. We shared with Mrs. Luebbert and she nurtured, loved and prayed with Thomas. She was nurturing us at the same time - without even knowing it!
We have saved many notes sent home by the teachers over the years... notes of concern, notes of praise, disciplinary action, compliments. I am sure we will get a laugh over many of them when our kids are grown! When Thomas lost his grandma last summer, he received many notes of sympathy from past teachers. It meant so much to him - and all of us. The care extends past the classroom which we have experienced so many times.
We can't imagine entrusting our kids with any other group of teachers. Thank you again for being so wonderful!
