- Ticket prices for the event have not increased. Prices are still $75 per person, same as last year. Also, there is a discounted ticket for people who have never attended the event before. These tickets are $60. You’ll enjoy a wonderful meal, music and entertainment. The event, which also includes live and silent auctions, is the main fund-raiser for St. Cecilia Grade School. Proceeds help pay for improvements at our school.
- You’ll have fun! Busy parents don’t get a lot of chances to get a little dressed up and go out for a night on the town. So get the babysitter lined up and treat yourself to some grown-up fun.
- You’ll build community. People who attend Comedy & Cuisine get to know fellow parents and parishioners better and get a stronger understanding of what makes our school special. People who volunteer during the event do the same.
- You don’t have to dress like a movie star. Comedy & Cuisine is a semi-formal event. For guys, that usually means a suit or a sport coat and tie. Most ladies wear a knee-length dress or dress slacks and blouse.
- Your bank account doesn’t have to look like Warren Buffett’s. People who attend often bid during the silent auction. But the silent auction has many affordable and practical items such as gift cards and athletic apparel. The live auction packages, such as gourmet dinners and tickets to sporting events, are more expensive. But often groups of parents will combine their money and bid together. They share the cost and the package.
- You don’t have to move like you’re on “Dancing with the Stars.” There is a DJ and dancing at the event. It’s great if you want to hit the dance floor, but many people just sit back and relax.
- You don’t have to be a social butterfly. Hundreds of people attend Comedy & Cuisine, so you won’t know everyone. But don’t worry about it. Our goal is to seat you with parents from your child’s class or anyone you request. Even if you don’t know all the people at your table, everyone is friendly.
